Sidney Crosby was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 17, the NHL announced on Monday.

The week included games against the Flyers, Oilers, Flames, and Rangers, and Crosby recorded at least one point in all four. Crosby recorded the opening goal in Philadelphia last Monday, and assisted on two more in the third period. He recorded an assist on Teddy Blueger's game-winning goal against the Oilers on Wednesday. Crosby scored a power play goal against the Flames and assisted on Evgeni Malkin's two third-period power play goals on Saturday. He recorded his third three-point game of the week on Sunday, with three assists in a win over the Rangers.

Crosby's 10-point week (2G, 8A) brings his season totals to 25 goals, 47 assists in 56 games.

This was the third time this season Crosby has been named one of the NHL's three stars. He was the First Star for the week of the All-Star Game in February, and the First Star in the last week of October.

Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov took home top honors this week, with three goals and seven assists in three games. Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko was named the Second Star, with four goals and six assists in four games.
