The Penguins have invited 41 players to this summer's prospect development camp, to be held June 26-28 at the Lemieux Complex.
The roster consists of 22 forwards, 14 defensemen, and five goaltenders. 15 of the 41 players are Penguins draft picks, including all five players selected by the Penguins in the 2019 draft, and top prospects defenseman Calen Addison and forward Filip Hallander.
Forwards Jordy Bellerive and Jake Lucchini and goaltenders Alex D'Orio and Emil Larmi, who were all undrafted and signed to NHL contracts by the Penguins, will be in attendance.
The Penguins have also invited players signed to AHL-level contracts with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to camp, including former Penn State forward Chase Berger, former St. Cloud defenseman Jon Lizotte, and Latvian forward Renars Krastenbergs, who played with the Nailers last season.
Notable free agent invites include Austin Lemieux, who just finished his redshirt freshman season at Arizona State. This will be his fourth year attending development camp. Penn State forward Brandon Biro has been invited. The Penguins have also invited UMass Amherst goaltender Matt Murray. Yes, that's his name.
Defenseman Zachary Lauzon, who was the Penguins' 2017 second-round pick but went unsigned this summer and committed to University of New Brunswick, will attend camp. He says he is fully recovered from his concussion issues, and it was a foot injury that prevented him from making a return last season.
Justin Almeida (shoulder), Kasper Bjorkqvist (shoulder) and Nikita Pavlychev (abdominal) all had surgery this summer and will not attend the camp.
