Brandon Tanev attended Smashfest this week in Toronto, a celebrity ping-pong tournament held to benefit cancer and concussion research.
Before the event, Tanev spoke with reporters about his ping-pong skills, joining the Penguins, his summer with Gary Roberts and more:
"Both Sidney (Crosby) and Matt Murray reached out to me," Tanev said. "It was awesome to chat with those guys for a little bit. I'm looking forward to finally meeting them in training camp. ... Any chance you get to go on the ice with the best player in the world is something very special. To learn from him and take things from his game is going to be really interesting, and really good for my game as well."
