Da Beauty League: Blueger advances to championship

Da Beauty League played its semifinal round of the playoffs on Monday night, and Teddy Blueger and Team RBC advanced to the championship game.

Blueger and RBC eliminated Nick Bjugstad and Team Walser with a 9-8 win.

Bjugstad scored the first goal of the postseason for Walser:

Bjugstad scored twice more in the game to complete the hat trick:

Blueger scored the game-winner with 6:35 remaining in the game.

These games were definitely more competitive than the rest of the games this summer. Hunter Miska, goaltender for the AHL's Colorado Eagles, made his way onto the SportsCenter Top 10 with this save:

Jake Guentzel and Clayton Phillips' Team Jack Links squad was eliminated by Team TRIA 5-2.

RBC and TRIA will play in the John Scott Cup championship game on Wednesday evening.

In addition to Blueger, notable players on RBC include the Stars' Erik Condra, the Islanders' Anders Lee, and the Coyotes' Alex Goligoski. RBC is coached by the NHL Network's Brian Lawton and former Penguin Ryan Malone.

TRIA is led by the Wild's Zach Parise, the Hurricanes' Erik Haula, and the Flyers' James van Riemsdyk. TRIA's coach is former Lightning and Capitals defenseman Ben Clymer.

Da Beauty League, established in 2015, is a summer league based in Minnesota for professional and college hockey players. Six teams play an eight-game regular season schedule and a two-game postseason schedule, competing for the John Scott Cup.
