CRANBERRY, Pa. -- The Penguins have recalled forward Joseph Blandisi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on an emergency basis, Jim Rutherford announced on Friday.
Andrew Agozzino has also been re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre. He appeared in just one game during his recall, Thursday's win over the Ducks. Agozzino recorded just 1:44 of ice time, during which he lost one faceoff, recorded one hit, and was on the ice for the Ducks' lone goal of the game.
Blandisi, 25, was originally acquired from the Ducks’ organization last January in the Derek Grant trade.
Blandisi saw success at the AHL level with nine goals and 11 assists in 27 games with Wilkes-Barre last season, but he did little to stand out during his short time with Pittsburgh. He recorded no points, an even plus/minus, seven total shots, and an average time on ice of 5:51 over six games with Pittsburgh. He was scoreless in his only game of the season, Wilkes-Barre's season opener.
