Penguins forward prospect Linus Olund returned to Swedish Hockey League action for the first time in two weeks, and it didn't take him long to look comfortable again.
Olund, the Penguins' fifth-round pick in 2017, was injured by a high hit in Brynas IF's game on Oct. 3. He prematurely returned to the ice later in the game, and was diagnosed with a concussion the following day.
Olund returned to Brynas' lineup on Thursday after being forced to miss the previous three games. He returned to his spot centering Brynas' second line, and scored his first goal of the season 45 seconds into the second period to give Brynas a 2-0 lead over Oskarshamn:
The goal eventually became the game-winner in Brynas' 4-1 win. Olund now has one goal and two assists in seven games this season.
Olund, 22, initially made the move to North America last season and recorded six goals and nine assists in 61 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He primarily played a fourth-line role and was a healthy scratch at times.
Olund requested to play in Sweden this season, where he would feel more comfortable and receive more ice time. He is still under contract with the Penguins and is on loan to Brynas.
