Eight points by one player would make for a pretty impressive week. Penguins 2019 first-round pick Samuel Poulin did it in a single game.
Poulin was a factor in all but one of the Sherbrooke Phoenix's goals in a 9-4 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes on Sunday evening, scoring two goals and six assists, setting a new Sherbrooke team record for the most points in a single game.
To add further perspective, only three players (including Poulin) have recorded at least eight points in a game since 2001. Before Poulin, the last player to record at least eight points in a game was Tomas Kubalik, who scored eight points nearly 10 years ago to the day. Mario Lemieux holds the record for most eight-point games in QMJHL history, with one 11-point game, one 10-point game, and four eight-point games.

Poulin picked up a primary assist on the first goal of the game, scored by Felix Robert just 10 seconds in, a Phoenix franchise record for fastest goal to start a game:
Robert scored again at 17:12, and Poulin again picked up the primary assist on Sherbrooke's second goal of the game:
Yann-Felix Lapointe scored at 19:27 and Poulin had the secondary assist:
Robert completed the hat trick 38 seconds into the second period, and Poulin again had the primary assist:

Sherbrooke's eighth goal of the game was the only one in which Poulin wasn't a factor.
Poulin then capped off the huge win with his second goal of the game at 15:08:
Poulin's monster night brought his season totals to 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) in 11 games. With five shots in the win, he's now averaging 4.9 shots per game.
