Bryan Rust, Justin Schultz. -- MATT SUNDAY / DKPS

CRANBERRY, Pa. -- The Penguins' fully healthy roster lasted all of one game.

Patric Hornqvist and Brian Dumoulin were both absent from the Penguins' practice in Cranberry on Sunday afternoon. Everybody else was in attendance and a full participant.

After practice, the team announced that Hornqvist was out "longer-term" with a lower-body injury and has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Saturday.

Hornqvist left in the third period of Saturday's loss to the Oilers, and did not return for the remainder of regulation or the overtime period. He appeared to be favoring one of his legs when he skated off.

The update on Dumoulin is better news. He and his wife are expecting their first child today.

With Hornqvist out, Bryan Rust was bumped up from the third line to the second line, and Dominik Kahun was inserted back into the lines in Rust's place. That leaves things looking like this:

Jake Guentzel - Sidney Crosby - Dominik Simon
Alex Galchenyuk - Evgeni Malkin - Bryan Rust
Jared McCann - Nick Bjugstad - Dominik Kahun
Zach Aston-Reese - Teddy Blueger - Brandon Tanev

Juuso Riikola took Dumoulin's spot on the top defense pairing alongside Kris Letang, leaving the defense pairings as:

Juuso Riikola - Kris Letang
Marcus Pettersson - Justin Schultz
Jack Johnson - John Marino - Chad Ruhwedel
