Sidney Crosby will make the Penguins' road trip out west, it's official.

The Penguins announced the move by tweeting a picture of Crosby boarding the team plane this morning, seen above.

After Sunday's loss to the Panthers, Mike Sullivan said a decision had been made on whether Crosby would attend the trip, but would not say what the decision was.

Crosby practiced with the team in a no-contact jersey on Friday, but said his participation was more so a matter of there being limited ice time that day, which is understandable, given the women's college hockey tournament at the Lemieux Complex taking place that weekend. Regardless, it was an encouraging sign to see him practice with the team and participate on the top power play unit.

"It’d be great to be around the group, but it’s whatever’s best as far as me getting back," Crosby said of potentially making the trip out west.

The Penguins' road trip will last three games over the next six days. They'll play the Golden Knights on Tuesday, Avalanche on Friday, and Coyotes on Sunday. They're scheduled to practice in Vegas on Wednesday, and in Colorado on Thursday.
