The QMJHL will not resume its regular season due to the coronavirus outbreak, the league announced on Tuesday.
The league still hopes to be able to have a postseason at some point. If the league is able to play a postseason, it's not clear what the format would be.
The regular season was scheduled to end on March 21, 2020. Since teams have played an uneven number of games, the final regular season standings are based on points percentage.
The Penguins' two QMJHL prospects, Samuel Poulin and Nathan Legare, would both in a playoff spot in a normal QMJHL postseason format based on the adjusted standings. Poulin's Sherbrooke Phoenix are the regular season champions with a 51-8-3-1 record, for a .841 points percentage, and Legare's Baie-Comeau Drakkar finish with a 24-29-7-4 record and a .461 points percentage for the No. 15 overall seed.
Poulin finishes the season as Sherbrooke's No. 3 leading scorer with 32 goals and 45 assists in 46 games. Legare finishes as Baie-Comeau's leading scorer with 35 goals and 36 assists in 61 games.
