The NHL on Monday provided an update on its coronavirus testing results.
Since teams began reopening their facilities for informal skates as part of Phase 2 of the NHL's Return to Play plan on June 8, 23 of the 396 players who have reported to their team's facility have tested positive for coronavirus.
Last week the NHL reported 15 coronavirus cases in over 250 players, so an additional eight players taking part in the skates have tested positive over the last week.
The NHL also announced that it is aware of an additional 12 players who have tested positive outside of Phase 2. The NHL reported 11 coronavirus cases last week, so the league became aware of one new case in the last week.
In addition to the 35 known coronavirus cases since June 8, there have been an additional 10 known cases prior to June 8.
The 396 players who have reported to their NHL cities and have been tested are just over half of the total players who are expected to travel to the hub cities this month. The NHL is expected to allow its 24 teams to bring a maximum of 31 players each into the bubble, which would be a maximum of 744 players.
