The Penguins have invited Providence College forward Josh Wilkins to this summer's development camp, Mark Divver of the Providence Journal reports.
Wilkins, 21, is in his junior season with the Friars, and currently leads his team in scoring with 13 goals and 21 assists in 33 games. He's been centering the top line alongside current Penguins prospect, junior Kasper Bjorkqvist.
Wilkins has 41 goals and 55 assists in 112 career NCAA games. He's 5-feet-11, 181 pounds, and has a left shot.
Like Bjorkqvist, Wilkins is expected to forgo his senior year and turn professional next season.
The news of the invite comes days after Divver reported that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton head coach Clark Donatelli and Penguins director of player development Scott Young scouted a Providence College game to watch Bjorkqvist.
