Da Beauty League isn't the only offseason league for professional hockey players.
The MTL Pro League, based in Montreal, was formed in 2017. The league's four teams play five regular season games of three-on-three hockey. Funds raised by the league benefit local children's charities.
Kris Letang and defense prospect Pierre-Olivier Joseph, acquired from Arizona in the Phil Kessel trade, were the Penguins' representatives in the league this season.
Letang led the league in scoring in the regular season with an absurd 15 goals and 19 assists in five games for 34 points, giving him an eight-point lead over the No. 2 leading scorer, Anthony Duclair of the Ottawa Senators.
Letang's Team D2S defeated Team MIT, 14-6, in the final game of the regular season on Tuesday. Letang scored two goals and four assists in the win:
Obviously, there's not a ton of defense in the league.
Joseph played in just two games, recording two goals and three assists. All of his points but one assist came in his Team Global's regular season finale, a 12-8 loss to Team David Forest:
Other notable players in the league include Jonathan Drouin, Will Carrier, Anthony Mantha, Derick Brassard, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Marco Scandella.
