The Penguins on Friday revealed their roster for the annual Prospects Challenge tournament, which will take place from Sept. 6-9 in Buffalo, New York.
Unlike last summer's roster, which featured Adam Johnson as the only Wilkes-Barre/Scranton regular from the previous season, the Penguins are inviting more players with professional experience. Anthony Angello, Sam Lafferty, and Sam Miletic all spent the entire year in the AHL and will attend the tournament, as well as Jake Lucchini and Chase Berger, both of whom spent significant time with Wilkes-Barre after going pro.
Sam Poulin and Nathan Legare, the Penguins' top two picks in this summer's draft, will also take part. The tournament will also be the first look at two defensemen acquired by trades this summer, John Marino and Pierre-Olivier Joseph.
Alex D'Orio and Emil Larmi, both set to play their first full professional seasons in North America this year, will be the goaltenders.
The Penguins are inviting four players on amateur tryout contracts who do not have professional contracts for next season. The most notable of the tryouts is defenseman Zach Lauzon, the Penguins' 2017 second-round pick who is hoping to earn a contract as he makes a comeback from his concussion issues. The Penguins relinquished their signing rights to him this summer, but are giving him a second chance.
The other three amateur tryouts belong to 18-year-old defenseman Liam Ross of the OHL's Sudbury Wolves, 19-year-old center Billy Moskal of the OHL's London Knights, and 18-year-old winger Josh Williams of the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings. All three participated in the Penguins' development camp earlier in the summer.

Mike Vellucci will coach the prospects in the tournament, along with returning Wilkes-Barre assistant coaches J.D. Forrest and Jarrod Skalde.
