ROB ULLMAN, born and raised in the Ohio towns of Alliance and Newton Falls, is the cartoonist at DK Pittsburgh Sports.

Career: About the only thing Rob’s been doing longer than following Pittsburgh’s sports teams is drawing comics. He’s worked as a freelance illustrator, cartoonist and storyboard artist for more than 20 years, for such clients as The Hockey News, The Stranger, The Washington City Paper, BoingBoing, HarperCollins, The U.S. Army and The American Red Cross. His comics include Grand Gestures, Traffic and Weather, Atom-Bomb Bikini and the ongoing Old-Timey Hockey Tales, the latter of which combines his two obsessions and celebrates the storied history of the coolest sport on the planet.

Personal: Rob and his wife, Brooke, live in Richmond, Va., where he spends his free time playing inline hockey, running the occasional half-marathon and making sure his kids, Evie and Max, don’t burn the house down.
